Playing Drum & Bass, Dubstep and other Bass Music. Shaped by labels such as Metalheadz, Virus, Exit, Hospital, V Recordings, Soul:R and Hard:Edged. Collaborations with TFAS, Heavy Sessions, Refloat, Recycle and many more. Hosting Klanggut, Langer Donnerstag, BRN, VUP Transmission and other events since 2003 at locations like Tacheles, Panke, Gretchen, MIKZ, Cassiopeia and Ostbloc. Watch out for our events and bookings.

A reserved, down-to-earth guy whose sound features a variety of infectious rhythms. Since 2003 Breakbeats, Dubstep, Bass, Drum & Bass and House are part of his repertoire.

BRN #2 | 2007

This photo was shot at the second edition of our stage at Bunte Republik Neustadt aka. BRN, a 3-day street festival celebrated every year in June in Dresden's city distric Neustadt. Our spot is located at Rothenburger Straße 34, right in the heart of the festival area.

Our test run was a year earlier with only a small guitar amp. In 2007 the crowd was already claiming the roof. And with a steadily growing sound system and an increasing focus on visual features and lighting, the BRN quickly became an annual don't-miss event for us and all D&B headz in Dresden.

The second sound system upgrade. Essentially a bunch of different speakers stacked on top of each other.

The journey begun in 2009 at Kunsthaus Tacheles. After our first event at 5th Floor, two very intense years followed at Studio 54 until Tacheles finally had to close in September 2012. While looking for another permanent base, we had a quick stopover at Comet Club, until we finally found our new home in Wedding - the Panke. A wonderful subcultural place where we had the opportunity to take Klanggut to the next level. Musically by inviting international, genre defining artists like Commix, Skeptical and Total Science. And visually by showing a passion for detailed decorations, light installations and live visuals.

The first Klanggut in our new home Panke was in October 2015. The Panke is a club, café and art space with a dedicated crew that puts together an exquisite program of music and visual art. The location is well hidden in the fifth backyard of an old housing complex at Gerichtstraße 23, 5 min walk from S-Bahnhof Wedding. Panke does not come to you, you come to Panke!

Mark System, Exit Records, London.
While Mark has been active as a producer and MC for several years, 2015 was the year of his breakthrough. "Final Approach", his first full-length album, came out on dBridge's Exit Records. The official release was shortly before he played his show at Klanggut in October 2015. What an emotional yet energetic set that was.

Commix, Metalheadz, London.
Starting out as a duo, the Commix name has graced some of Drum & Bass’ leading labels since coming to prominence in the early 2000s. Today Commix focuses more on the deep, the experimental and the musical. The Generation EP was a great come back to the Metalheadz imprint in 2016 and featured these kind of sounds. Perfect timing for an invitation to Klanggut.

Total Science, C.I.A, Bristol.
In 1996, Q-Project and Spinback launched their label Computer Integrated Audio (C.I.A) and the alias Total Science, was born. Over the coming years, Total Science had constantly releases on all the major D&B labels including Metalheadz, Goodlooking, Moving Shadow, Hospital, 31 Records, Soul:R to name but a few, as well as releases under their own C.I.A and various other imprints. When they head over to Berlin in April 2017 their "Turn Around EP" was just released and "Big Time Winners" smashed Panke's dance floor.

Langer Donnerstag | LaDo

Since 2013 | Rummelsburger Bucht

Langer Donnerstag aka LaDo is a VUP bass music event series that - if in season - takes place every thursday at and in cooporation with Ostbloc. The wonderful boulder and DJ spot is located near Hauptstraße in Lichtenberg, at the waterfront of Rummelsburger Bucht.
A basic LaDo season ranges from June till end of September. Boulder-friendly & bass-heavy music from VUP & friends will be served.

Langer Donnerstag is an open air event as long as summer lasts. For the rest of the year we are hiding somewhere in Ostbloc's chalky air.
Scheduling is as easy as this: That a day is a Thursday, does not mean that LaDo takes place. But if one day is LaDo, it means that this day is also a Thursday. Watch out for upcoming LaDo events!
